ICYMI: Your favorites so far

Believe it or not, Reader, one year ago, I hit send on the very first edition of this newsletter.

It was a little nerve-wracking, honestly. I wasn’t sure how many people would read it—or if it would matter.

But I knew this:

Career services deserves more visibility.
More strategy. More alignment. More truth-telling. More bold ideas.

And I hoped that if I started saying what so many of us were already thinking… maybe we’d all feel a little more equipped to lead.

Since then, I’ve written dozens of weekly issues—some practical, some provocative, some personal.

You’ve read, forwarded, screenshot, shared, and even sent them to your presidents. (Yes, really.)

So before anything else:

Thank you.

What resonated the most

My average open rate this year is 60%—well above the national average of 20–30%. Here are the editions you opened the most:

The ones that didn’t get the spotlight—but should have 👀

Even with strong overall engagement, a few editions didn’t get the attention I expected.

Maybe the subject line didn’t land. Maybe it was spring break. Maybe inboxes were just... full.

But if you missed these the first time, they’re worth a second look:

Still relevant. Still powerful. Just overlooked.

Most downloaded tool

No contest here. The tool you downloaded the most?

It’s simple, adaptable, and it’s helping career services leaders communicate better with the people who hold the power—and the purse strings.

Final thought

It’s not lost on me that this newsletter takes up space.

Space in your inbox. Space in your day. Space in your head.

And the fact that you’ve made space for these ideas—week after week—is something I don’t take for granted.

It’s a privilege to show up in your inbox. And I try to make every word count.

Whether you’re building, rebuilding, or just trying to keep momentum going—I hope this space continues to offer clarity, courage, and the occasional deep exhale.

Here’s to year two—bigger questions, bolder leadership, and smarter strategy.

Thanks for being here, Reader.
